If you have lots of directories and want to know which one is heavier (has more MB of data) just use du (disk usage)

Example

dir_A
  +---A1
  +---A2
  +---A3
  +---B1

Imagine that you need to delete or move one of those directories because you are short of disk space. One solution would be a find + ls + xargs combo and then all the results in Excel, for example. But this is much simpler

cd dir_A

du -sh *

This will show you how much space each directory uses

Alternatively, you may want to know only the directories starting with A. Then you could use this

cd dir_A

du -sh A*
